The mechanism of the KM Refresh relies on sending a control packet at the time of KM Refresh. After lots of changes in the code this mechanism of correctness verification might have been compromised. Even though the KMREQ control packet is so small that it's unlikely for it to get lost in UDP, it is still possible, it should be retested if the mechanism for repeated KMREQ in case when it didn't get KMRSP in time is still working correctly.
