Context

JetBrains (the IDE company behind IntelliJ/PyCharm/etc.) released Mellum2 on June 1, 2026 — a 12B MoE coding model with Apache 2.0 license. Why this is a manual call

Same borderline pattern as issue #32 (NemoStation):

• For: A recognizable, large software company entering open-weight LLM space with a legitimate coding model; Apache 2.0 license; domain-specific engineering expertise. Two model releases = beginning of a pattern.
• Against: Only 2 models. The supervisor bar is "sustained real model releases" — two releases is a thin pattern, especially for a company whose primary business is IDE tooling, not model development.

Recommendation

If JetBrains ships a third distinct model (Mellum3, Mellum-Omni, etc.) in the next 4–8 weeks, add them. If not, close as "watch-and-wait."
