I discovered this tool today. I downloaded the zip for 5.6 (windows 11), put it in a folder (see below) opened the exe, solved the 3 red/blue ticks on the bottom left, then started to click on links -- nothing happened. System log:
Faulting application name: bt.exe, version: 5.6.10.0, time stamp: 0x6a04841a
Faulting module name: bt.exe, version: 5.6.10.0, time stamp: 0x6a04841a
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000586f0 ------------------------------------------------------- different in 5.6 than 5.5

Faulting application path: D:\Git Programs\BrowserTamer-aloneguid-bt\bt.exe ------- different path

Then I found this older solved issue but I thought I'd test version 5.5. This time I put the exe in the same folder as the log. Same problem; exe runs but links trigger error:
Faulting application name: bt.exe, version: 5.5.5.0, time stamp: 0x6982232d
Faulting module name: bt.exe, version: 5.5.5.0, time stamp: 0x6982232d

Then I installed via winget winget install aloneguid.bt --source winget. I deleted all my other exes. Opened the winget exe. Then started to click on links, that worked.
PS: the hit_log.csv and the log.txt are empty (despite ticking the checkboxes)
Actually the reason I didn't have logs was likely because I didn't know this app doesn't save its settings by default (mentioned here).
