Basic commands not working after initial install

Hello, thanks very much for making the plugin. This is my first time to try cursorless, so it's entirely possible I'm making a newbie mistake in the configuration or its usage.

Although the hats are appearing, for some reason basic commands like take made or post odd do not work. The one command that I found that does work is chuck line. What do I need to configure to get it working? Cursorless seems to be working as intended using Visual Studio Code.

I'm using PyCharm 2025.3.1 on Windows with the following plugins:

Hi – I just ran into, seemingly, the exact same problem in Rider and have been getting some help on the Talon slack's jetbrains channel.

My (potentially imperfect) understanding is that your Talon right now doesn't know that it should enable the user.cursorless tag when it sees JetBrains PyCharm. (Enabling that tag enables the commands associated with cursorless)

So you need to tell Talon that. Thankfully, asoee has another repo with the config
– just clone it into your .talon/user folder like the other stuff

I think the full setup for anyone else trying to get this plugin to work:

1. install Talon
2. install the Community voice command set (https://github.com/talonhub/community)
3. install the talon side of cursorless: https://www.cursorless.org/docs/user/installation/#installing-the-talon-side
4. to the same .talon/user folder, clone https://github.com/asoee/cursorless-jetbrains-talon
5. open JetBrains and install the talon-cursorless-everywhere plugin
6. maybe(?) restart JetBrains + Talon
7. try it out
