Mail config without authentication?

How to setup simple mail on port 25 without any authentication? I tried different environment settings but every one generates random errors like:

Ruby documentation also seems to be lacking in that area. I just want to use my local postfix without any TLS/login shenanigans.

There's documentation in the docs/ directory on how to configure SMTP. Without more information from you, I can't diagnose the problem you're having. However these errors aren't random, they are giving you feedback:

• wrong authentication type none
• SMTP-AUTH requested but missing user name

Hopefully the docs will provide enough guidance to figure out what's going on.

Well the problem is that documentation assumes that mailer will use authentication. But I don't want to use one. And I have no clue what should I set in SMTP_USERNAME, SMTP_PASSWORD and SMTP_AUTHENTICATION to set the mailer without authentication. When I omit username and password I get second error message. When I set authentication to none I get first error.

none is not a valid value. You may be able to set this to nil in your deployment by overriding config/environments/production.rb.

Yeah, so basically I need to edit source files? This is what was my conclusion after searching the internet. Thanks for clarification.

I'm using it via Docker.
So just a sed to replace. This has worked for me with no authentication.

In a docker-compose.yaml add the following:
