Since the original discussion, quite a few improvements have been made, but @lewismervin1 is still reporting that it doesn't work.

I've created a new branch, chrivers/ssdp-upnp-fix-uuid, that changes how uuids are generated, as well as the order of announcements.

It might help with your issue. Are you able to compile a version by hand from this branch?

@lewismervin1 There's a new version of Bifrost released today, that has (among other things) many upnp/ssdp/autodiscovery related improvements.

Maybe you can try the new version, and see if there's any difference? :)

Hi @chrivers, thanks for the new version and the ongoing efforts.

I tried device discovery with my standard config.yaml but unfortunately still no devices show in Alexa.

I also tried the approach to remove state.yaml (temporarily setting config.yaml with z2m: {}) however I am sure that Alexa only shows if devices are discvoered for a Hub - not if there is an (empty) Hub visible. I think there would need to be at least one device to validate using that method.

And okay, it seems reasonable that at least one device is needed.

I have to say, it's (currently) not very easy to make a device limit feature.

Is there any chance you have a spare zigbee coordinator somewhere, that you could try joining a couple of devices to, and pointing Bifrost to that? I'm afraid that's the best option for now.

@chrivers afraid I currently only have the 1 coordinator at the moment. I had a go at modifying the state.yaml to emulate 1 device but failed and can see it is not simple to reduce to 1 device for now.

I was recently doing some reading around the cap - and if there is a limit to the number of devices which causes my issue, then there may be workarounds, maybe as discussed in the emulated_hue thread here: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/working-on-multiple-emulated-hue-instances/9649 (though port 80 is now a requirement)
