Just to provide some context, the implementation in this repository leverages a JNI binding to Lance rust library for its functionality.

The other PR you mentioned (trinodb/trino#26987) is a parallel effort to create a pure-Java implementation, but it is still a Work-In-Progress.

Therefore, I recommend using this connector until the Java implementation matches the feature set of the Lance rust implementation.
