getting error

everytime i make it, i get this error:
CMake Error: The source directory "/home" does not appear to contain CMakeLists.txt
Specify --help for usage, or press the help button on the CMake GUI.

Please paste all the commands you are using to build and in which directories.

mkdir build
cd build
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/path/to/prefix ..
make
make install # use sudo if necessary

I mean what you actually write not the instructions.
You are probably running cmake from /home not the source directory.
