Frequent PV surplus start/stop

Thanks for the great integration. Having problem with frequent starting/stopping of charging seeing in the logging:

The difference is seeing in 'pv surplus: 6', even when surplus is more than 3000W constantly. What change triggers this value? Seems this is the root cause of start/stop mechanism.

Other settings are set according the guide:
Allow Charge Pause (car compatibility) = on
GridTarget Power = -500
Use PV surplus = on

My sensor.grid_power is not triggered directly in automation, but comes from RESTful template with scan interval 5secs.

I have to admit, that I don't understand your issue yet... Also where this 'pv surplus: 6' is coming from ?!

this log comes from Activity tab in the integration itself.

ok - thanks for this clarification - I never paied attention to this activity log - the enabled debug log is the only source of truth for me...

Status changed to Charging because of PV surplus no clue what's causing this activity to be reported ... because of PV surplus ?!
