Documentation: Proxmox VE deployment with QCOW2, NoCloud and OpenTofu

Proposal

Would the project consider adding a short documentation note for automated OPNsense deployment on Proxmox VE, either in the VM image build documentation or in a small "Community implementations" section?

This is not a request for OPNsense to publish or support an official Proxmox image.

Related earlier discussions:

Both issues were closed with the recommendation to build VM images through opnsense/tools. That remains reasonable, but the closed issues are difficult for new users to discover when searching for a complete Proxmox deployment workflow.

Existing community implementation

We have published an independent implementation at:

https://github.com/biptec/opnsense-proxmox

It includes:

• reproducible OPNsense QCOW2 builds from source;
• QEMU Guest Agent integration;
• first-boot provisioning from the Proxmox Cloud-Init/NoCloud drive;
• preserve, DHCP and static management network modes;
• hostname, DNS, Web UI password and SSH key provisioning;
• OpenTofu configuration for VM deployment;
• actual management IP address and netmask read through QEMU Guest Agent;
• release manifests and SHA-256 checksums.

Requested outcome

Would maintainers accept a small documentation or README pull request that links to this project with a clear disclaimer that it is unofficial and community-maintained?

If another official location is more appropriate, guidance would be appreciated.

The goal is discoverability only; this proposal does not ask the OPNsense project to endorse the image or provide support for it.
