All projects update simultaneously when duplicating — weekly church service workflow

I use FreeShow for our weekly Sunday church services. My current workflow is:

1. Click our Template → FreeShow automatically creates a new project with the current date as the name.
2. The new project is created with all the existing slides from the template.
3. I edit the slides for that Sunday's service.

The problem: When I edit the current week's project, all previous projects update to reflect the same changes. Every project ends up showing identical content regardless of which one I edit.

I also tried duplicating a previous project instead of using the template — same result. All projects still update together.

Expected behavior:
Each project should be an independent copy. Editing this week's slides should not affect any previous week's projects.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a template with slides
2. Click the template to create a new project (Project A)
3. Edit the slides in Project A
4. Create another project from the same template (Project B)
5. Edit slides in Project B
6. Go back to Project A — it now shows Project B's content

Environment:

• FreeShow version: 1.6.4
• OS: Windows

Question:
Is this expected behavior since projects reference shared shows rather than containing independent copies? If so, what is the recommended workflow for creating a new independent copy of a service each week without affecting previous weeks?

Thank you. I tried both duplicating and creating from a project template and all the projects are unique and different. Not sure why this happens for you. Can you send a screen recording?

Oh, you are talking about the shows themselves. They are global! So in the project it's just a "reference" to the ones you see in the Shows drawer.
So if you want to make them unique you need to duplicate them from the shows drawer!
