Thread of functions that could be fixed to add into the package

This gist (https://gist.github.com/willpearse/1bdfaff2eb8a93080f159d7a77993d96) contains some functions that don't work in MADcomm and really shouldn't be sat in there in a `if(FALSE)` block. Someone fix these up and add them in when they have the time...
