The image is failing to build on MacOS

I have followed the instructions given to build the image and it failed with the following error:

I have tried the same thing on two machines with the same setting and it didn't work. Worked fine on a linux machine.

macOS Majove
Docker Engine: 18.09.2

I've only ever seen that error when the kernel killed the compiler because it ran out of memory. How much memory is allocated? Could you check the output of dmesg immediately after the compilation fails?
