Codex Safety Net is an unofficial Windows tray and macOS menu bar app that protects earned Codex limit reset credits from expiring unused
It launches quietly at login, checks the local Codex installation, and redeems an eligible reset shortly before it expires
- Uses Codex's
account/rateLimits/readresponse for exact credit IDs and expiration times - Redeems the exact credit through
account/rateLimitResetCredit/consume - Defaults to acting 15 minutes before expiry
- Avoids spending a reset when unused quota will naturally reset before the credit expires
- Starts at login and performs network work only during brief checks
- Includes Permanently uninstall…, which removes startup app registration, local settings, and the app after confirmation
- Codex Safety Net talks to the official local
codex app-serverprocess. It never reads or stores your access token
