Any way you can port the minimum required changes to the Ref client please? Look like a lot here.

I would be more than happy to do so if we get a commitment of intention to merge it from a maintainer first.

Kristapsk seems to be the only chance but all my attempts to reach out to him have failed.

It's really the tens of piled up MRs and no maintainer responses what initially pushed me to do the rewrite...

@seamo1 for jm-ref it's a bit more complex than just adding the Tor PoW unfortunately. See JoinMarket-Org/joinmarket-clientserver#1819 (comment)
