I want to add a new page to the Wallet Security framework focused on Encumbered Wallets & TEE Security. This section will cover advanced wallet designs that leverage trusted execution environments (TEEs) and encumbrance techniques to enhance security and privacy. It will include practical guidance, threat models, and implementation considerations for teams looking to deploy or evaluate these wallet types.
Why do you think it is important?
Encumbered wallets and TEE-based solutions are increasingly relevant for high-value and institutional crypto operations, offering strong guarantees against key exfiltration, unauthorized signing, and privacy leaks. These approaches address attack vectors that traditional wallets and even multisig setups cannot fully mitigate. Documenting these techniques will help teams understand the trade-offs, risks, and operational requirements, filling a gap in the current framework for advanced, real-world wallet security.
