Hi @lagz0ne, have you tested it? Did you bump to any kind of problems with 0.9 version in this setup?

I used that for a while, didn't bump into any problem actually.
@flozano and I think @portenez has given it a tried, they may have more inside

Works for us here, no problems

The image built this way works for basic scenarios. I haven't tried any more than the basics.

Also, I think I reverted to 8x, but I don't remember why. I can double check, but it might take a while.

Further notices:

• the version of the Kafka within the Docker package could be clearly mentioned on the README. Now it has 0.8.2.1 but I needed to see inside the running container to find this out.
• references to "Kafka 7" and "Kafka 8" in the README are vague

If you use ARG instead of ENV you wouldn't even have to edit the Dockerfile. See https://github.com/gg7/docker-kafka/blob/51be341802de622da29480b39998e530c27e08ef/Dockerfile#L8-L9
