Redraw failure(?) when opening programs

This happens to me every so often, it's enough to be annoying as you have to close then open the program again or move the window to a different workspace for the window to show up properly. I doubt it's a video driver issue as it happens with both xf86-video-intel and modesetting drivers, it's not picom either as it happens with it on and off

oh i always assumed this was an issue with my more minimal setup and that some prgrams wont work. a tempoary solution for me was to just resize it and it should display again
