## About the software toolkit

- [qlass](https://qlass.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) is a software package for VQE workflows on photonics devices
- It builds upon and is integrated with key tools in numerical simulation, like SciPy and PySCF, and quantum-specific applications, including Qiskit and Perceval.
- Recent highlights: The package is integrated with Piquasso and participated in unitaryHACK 2025.
- [Documentation](https://qlass.readthedocs.io/en/latest/): User guide, API-doc, examples, can be found.
- Hackathon: qlass participated in [unitaryHACK 2025](https://2025.unitaryhack.dev/) and was the first project to be completed.
- Community: ESA Phi Lab seminar, Deep Tech La Fabrique event, etc.

## About the collaboration

- [QLASS](https://www.qlass-project.eu/) is a collaboration funded by the EU under Horizon Europe (HE).
- The QLASS consortium meeting was held in Montpellier on March 10, 2026.
- It is one of the quantum-technology focused programs by HE. In it, UF partners with industry and research institutions to advance the field of quantum technology and its software stack’s integration with EU technology.
- UF leads WP5, coordinating theory and software work package.
- So far results have included theoretical and software progress in the field of VQAs applied to photonics and experimental investigations are undergoing.
